Tom’s Car Care Uses Oil Change Reminder Stickers with Success

// February 29th, 2012 // Comments Off // Bumper Stickers

When Tom opened his auto garage, he wanted to keep the customer #1 at all times. Running a business took about 14 to 16 hours a day, and it was hard sometimes to get it all done. But Tom enjoyed running his own business and taking care of everyone’s cars. It all started with Oil Change Reminder Stickers.

Tom was working at Al’s Autos when he realized they didn’t have a system to let customers know about oil changes. “Al, why don’t we get Oil Change Reminder Stickers?” Tom asked. “We could even customize them with the name of the garage, so people knew to come back here.” Al thought it was a terrific idea, and put Tom in charge of ordering them. Soon Tom was the day manager in charge of the garage and Al was giving him advice on how to own his own garage, something Tom had never thought about before.

“You know, I think I realized you have an owner’s attitude when you came to me with those Oil Change Reminder Stickers. You really care about the big and the little things. You care about the customer and you think about the business’ success. That’s what makes you and your business successful,” Al said. Tom listened to what he had to say. “Then I think its time I opened my own garage,” Tom replied. Al grinned, “I guess you’ve been listening to me after all.”

Tom still does oil changes at his garage, something the guys kind of tease him about. But he gets an extra sense of pride adding the Custom Printed Oil Change Reminder Sticker. He knows it tells the customer to come back to his garage, and he knows it helps the customer take care of their car well. And doing both of those things is a sign of business success for him.

Tom’s Car Care just celebrated their 10th year anniversary. They have 4 locations and 35 employees. Tom isn’t sure how many oil changes they have done, or exactly how many Custom Printed Oil Change Reminder Stickers they have put on cars, but he’s certain it’s a lot!

How to Add Oil Change Stickers to Your Car Care Business:

Add your car care company’s contact information. Remember that most who want an oil change or car care will want to call, or even fax to let you know they’d like to come in. Don’t forget to put your street address, city and other information about your location so people can easily come by without asking for directions.

If you have extra space, try adding your car care company’s business hours. Some car care companies are open on the weekend and others aren’t. It’s a great benefit if you are open on the weekends for some customers. Other customers may be pleased to know you have a late evening.

Use easy to read fonts and large printing. Remember that Oil Change Stickers are clear on the windshield so you want them to be as easy to read as possible. A font size that is easy for you to read could be more difficult for someone that wears glasses or contacts, so try to make the font size as large as you can, for your customers’ convenience.

Bumper Stickers Get Attention for Our Children’s Library 5K Walk

Building a new children’s library is expensive and we’ve done a variety of fundraisers. But I would have to say that our 5K walk was one of the most successful – and it wouldn’t have even made it if it wasn’t for the bumper stickers.

One of our volunteers said, “Let’s do a 5K walk.” And everyone agreed. They thought it was a great idea. The best thing about planning a walk is that the expenses are relatively low and many people like walks today as a special event. It’s something you can bring your kids to or get the entire family involved in. For a children’s library, that’s a very important factor. We didn’t want to do a stuffy black tie dinner – an event where children were involved truly fit with our mission.

But we were having trouble with sign ups. With the library under construction, less people are coming. The parking lot is a lot smaller so fewer cars can park there. So even though sign up sheets and flyers are in the main library, we weren’t seeing families sign up the way we hoped. We realized because the library was under construction was probably the challenge we were facing. I was out jogging one morning and noticed the bumper stickers on my daughter’s car. She had one that was particularly funny that always made me smile. Then it hit me…people notice bumper stickers, so why not create one to promote our children’s library 5k?

Our bumper stickers were created quickly and they had our Readie the Owl mascot on them. We asked neighboring libraries to put them at their desks too so people could pick them up there. We gave them to volunteers and board members. We gave them out at the children’s schools locally. Soon everyone knew about the walk and our sign ups soared. We had more than a thousand people signed up for our walk. We were not only excited but a little nervous. It was our first walk and we were almost beyond capacity. These bumper stickers had really worked like a charm.

The 5k walk went well and everyone had a good time. The kids did a shorter walk and there were activities for them. The funds raised went to help build the children’s library. But everyone had such a great time and we had such a positive turn out we are thinking about making this an annual event. With library budgets what they are today, raising money to help the library can be very useful to help add programs and special events for the children once the library has been completed.

Our bumper stickers worked better than sending out a press release, making flyers or simply getting the word out in another way. With a local community event people notice bumper stickers on people’s cars. Whether at the grocery store, waiting to pick up kids at school or simply running errands that car helps to promote our 5k walk for the library. I know we’ll be using funny bumper stickers in the future for other library programs and events.

Bumperstickers Help High School Talent Show Soar

// April 26th, 2011 // Comments Off // Bumper Stickers

At Griffindale High School every year they hold a talent show. It’s something the kids and teachers alike look forward to. Students share their talents from singing, dancing, art and other skills. It is a creative night that everyone enjoys. But this year the talent show was almost cancelled. That is until custom bumper stickers came along to save the day.

The talent show is an annual fundraiser for the school. The school counts on ticket sales to help with school programs the kids look forward to – like the end of the year picnic. Many community members come to the talent show, knowing it will help the school. The kids do two performances – an early show and an evening show.

But this year the secretary forgot to place the ad in the local newspaper. The school was very concerned that the community wouldn’t know about the talent show in time to buy tickets. Without community members coming to the talent show, they simply wouldn’t sell enough tickets. The school might not have enough money to afford an end of the year school picnic and other nice things for the students.

That’s when one of the teachers suggested bumper stickers. By ordering them and giving them to students and families, the community would easily know about the talent show.  They came in full color and the school had many choices for fonts. The school could even add the school’s mascot to the bumper sticker. With the information about the talent show including the date and time – they were ready to hand out. Homeroom teachers were given one and each student was given several.

It wasn’t long ‘till cars were spotted around town with the colorful funny bumper stickers reminding everyone about the talent show. The school’s phone was ringing and ringing with community members wanting to buy tickets. They were a success!

The school parking lot was filled with cars proudly wearing the talent show bumper sticker. Both students and parents alike thought they were great. Not only was it in the official school colors but it had the school mascot on it – the eagle. The teachers had bumper stickers on their cars too. Many commented they were asked about the talent show while about town, and everyone knew about the talent show. It was such a popular event that people were glad to know it would be happening soon. They were excited to buy tickets and go to the talent show and support the school.

The day of the talent show came and both shows were completely sold out. The principal and teachers smiled, knowing they would have plenty of funds to afford the end of the year school picnic and other nice things for the students during the school year. The talent show was yet another success. Even better – the bumper stickers cost far less than the advertisement in the newspaper! So the principal and school knew they could count on them for the coming year. When you find something successful like bumper stickers – you should just stick with it!
